The Treaty encourages States to record imports, but does not create an obligation to do so. Therefore we do not consider that there is an obligation subsequently to report on imports. We regularly review our approach and do not plan changes at this time. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/02/2019 answer text <p>The UK has actively supported proposals for three new EU thematic sanctions regimes in order to strengthen our international resilience to hybrid threats. These regimes are in different stages of development in the EU.</p><p>The chemical weapons regime was adopted at the Foreign Affairs Council on 15 October, and on 21 January the EU adopted the first listings under that regime in response to the use of chemical weapons in Salisbury and Syria. These actions demonstrate the resolve of the UK and our allies to tackle the proliferation and use of chemical weapons in contravention of global norms.</p><p>We welcomed the October European Council conclusions which gave a mandate for work on EU cyber sanctions. We are coordinating with EU partners to support the development of a cyber sanctions regime. We are also very supportive of ongoing policy discussions following the Dutch initiative to establish an EU global human rights sanctions regime. Officials from the British Embassy in Moscow have registered concerns about the situation for LGBT+ people in Chechnya at a senior level with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.</p><p>We currently provide funding to a number of NGOs working to counter violent extremism and promote human rights and the rule of law in the North Caucasus. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/01/2019 answer text <p>As the Foreign Secretary and I made clear earlier this month, we are deeply concerned about recent reports of a renewed wave of persecution of LGBT+ people in Chechnya. Persecution for being LGBT+, in any country in the world, is abhorrent.</p><p>Following these renewed reports of persecution, the UK Government has worked closely with international partners to communicate to Russia that persecution of LGBT+ people in Chechnya is completely unacceptable. This includes joint statements from the EU Spokesperson, from the EU to the OSCE (the latter of which Russia is a member of) and the Equal Rights Coalition. We have focused on calling out Russia’s lack of a credible investigation, and impunity for the perpetrators of this persecution. The Prime Minister is receiving regular updates on this issue, is following events closely and will engage President Poroshenko as events continue to unfold. Our full diplomatic network is engaging on an international response. We are in very close contact in Kyiv. The Foreign Secretary spoke to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Klimkin on 29 November, when he reaffirmed the UK’s solidarity with Ukraine. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/12/2018 answer text <p>In recent years the Eswatini Government has made a number of positive legislative changes, with respect to the human rights of its citizens. These include the Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Act, which was signed into law in July 2018. However, the human rights situation in Eswatini remains troubling and we regularly raise our concerns with the Swazi authorities. The UK was a full participant in the Eswatini’s Universal Periodic Review, which took place in at the Human Rights Council in Geneva in 2016, where a series of recommendations were made.
