answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/09/2015 answer text <p>We regularly discuss the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s (DPRK) appalling human rights record with close allies and partners. In August, the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my right hon. Friend the Member for Runnymede and Weybridge (Mr Hammond), met the Republic of Korea's Foreign Minister, Yun Byung-se, in Seoul for a wide-ranging dialogue. This included discussion of how the UK and the Republic of Korea could work together to improve the DPRK’s human rights record. In September, I travelled to the UN in Geneva. During this visit, I met the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Prince Zeid bin Ra’ad, and raised the human rights situation in the DPRK. Officials from our High Commissions in Delhi and Islamabad regularly discuss the situation in Kashmir with the governments of both India and Pakistan, and travel to the region periodically to see the situation on the ground for themselves.</p><p>The long standing position of the UK is that it is for India and Pakistan to find a lasting resolution to the situation in Kashmir, taking into account the wishes of the Kashmiri people. It is not for the UK to prescribe a solution or to act as a mediator. Human rights guidance is a core part of that. The UK National Action Plan for implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, entitled &quot;Good Business&quot;, sets out what the Government will do and what it expects of business in respecting human rights throughout their operations.</p><p>The Government is working with the Government of Malawi and British companies to encourage greater bilateral trade and investment. In September 2013 the Government published an National Action Plan entitled “Good Business” setting out how we would implement the UN Guiding Principles and what action we would take to support the principles internationally including by encouraging other states to follow the principles and to publish their own national action plans where possible.
