With this in mind, the former Foreign Secretary asked Dame Judith MacGregor to carry out a review of how the FCO handles complex consular cases. However, the British High Commission in Nairobi has written to the Kenyan Ministry for Foreign Affairs, and the Head of the Department for Pensions in the Kenyan National Treasury seeking an explanation for non-payment of pensions to former Kenyan civil servants and the lack of increase in line with inflation. The Foreign Secretary has not discussed these reports with Cabinet Colleagues, however we frequently raise our serious concerns about the situation in Xinjiang with the Chinese authorities and at the UN, and will continue to do so.
