The Prime Minister made this clear when he spoke to President Erdogan on 12 October and 20 October. We have also, with European partners, raised this issue at the UN Security Council.</p><p>As the Foreign Secretary told the House of Commons on 15 October, the Government takes its arms export control responsibilities very seriously and keeps our defence exports to Turkey under careful and continual review. Regarding representations to India specifically, the Prime Minister has spoken to Prime Minister Modi about the situation, underlining the importance of maintaining dialogue. The Foreign Secretary has raised his concerns about the situation with the Indian Minister for External Affairs Dr Jaishankar. The Minister for the Commonwealth, UN and South Asia has also had regular engagement with the Indian High Commissioner, and discussed Kashmir with the Indian Minister of Minority Affairs during his visit to New Delhi this month.</p><p>We recognise that there are human rights concerns in both India-administered Kashmir and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. We encourage all states to ensure domestic laws are in line with international standards. Any allegation of human rights abuse is deeply concerning and must be investigated thoroughly, promptly, transparently and independently.</p><p>The Government’s longstanding position is that it is for India and Pakistan to find a lasting political resolution to the situation in Kashmir, taking into account the wishes of Kashmiri people. It is not for the UK to prescribe a solution or act as mediator. We are aware of reports that armed groups are operating in contravention of the peace agreement, and that the government is taking measures to tackle the problem. We consistently raise these issues with the Colombian Government and in multilateral fora. Most recently, our Permanent Representative to the United Nations raised this issue at the UN Security Council on 11 October.</p><p>President Duque's Government has publicly committed to implementing the Peace Accords of 2016, and we remain steadfast in our support of the Colombian authorities as they seek to ensure sustainable peace in Colombia. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/10/2019 answer text <p>We remain deeply concerned about restrictions on movement and access in Gaza, and the impact that this is having on the humanitarian situation. Our Embassy in Tel Aviv regularly raises the matter of medical permits with the Israeli authorities. Israeli restrictions severely restrict the movement of medical professionals, patients and families from Gaza, hampering the provision of quality health services, as well as impacting Palestinians in the West Bank. The Minister for the Middle East and North Africa also raised this issue with the Israeli Ambassador on 22 October. The situation in Gaza is particularly acute, and is compounded by frequent closure by Egypt of the Rafah crossing, preventing urgent medical cases from seeking treatment in Egypt. A lasting resolution to the situation is needed that will ensure that all those who are in need of medical attention and their families have unimpeded access to healthcare provisions. We also remain seriously concerned by the continued demolition of Palestinian property by Israeli authorities. We consistently call for an immediate end to all actions that undermine the viability of the two-state solution, including the demolition of Palestinian property in the West Bank. In all but the most exceptional of circumstances, demolition in occupied territories is contrary to International Humanitarian Law and to UN Security Council resolutions. The practice causes unnecessary suffering to ordinary Palestinians and is harmful to the peace process. It is essential that protests are conducted peacefully and within the law, and that the response of the authorities is proportionate. On 9 August, the Foreign Secretary spoke at length to the Hong Kong Chief Executive, Carrie Lam, about the police response to recent protests, and the UK Consul-General in Hong Kong is in regular contact with the authorities, including on this issue. We have made clear our view that there must be a robust, credible and independent investigation into events in Hong Kong.
