answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/09/2017 answer text <p>Boko Haram have led a brutal campaign of violence against civilians in the Lake Chad region. UK assistance is designed to help those affected, and assist Nigeria and its regional partners to tackle the threat. During their visit to Nigeria last week the Foreign Secretary and the International Development Secretary saw firsthand some of the support that the UK is providing. The conflict in the region requires a comprehensive response, tackling the threat posed by Boko Haram and the humanitarian crisis through the full range of security, political and humanitarian, and in the longer term, development work. The UK is a lead player, providing a substantial package of military, intelligence and development support to Nigeria. This includes training for the Nigerian armed forces and £5 million for the Multinational Joint Task Force, the regional force tackling Boko Haram. The UK was one of the first donors to respond to the humanitarian crisis in North East Nigeria and we have scaled up our support from £1 million in 2014 to £100 million this year. Following a ballistic missile launch on 11 February the DPRK Ambassador was summoned to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office where it was made clear that their actions are a threat to international security and that such dangerous and destabilising activity must stop. The Ambassador was asked to convey this message to Pyongyang in the strongest possible terms.</p><p>As the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my Rt Hon. What is important is that the resumption of Libya's oil production is sustained to generate the vital revenue needed to enable the Government of National Accord (GNA) to deliver public services and address the needs of the Libyan people: electricity in homes, cash in banks, improving healthcare and infrastructure, for the benefit of all Libyans. UN Security Council Resolutions 2259 and 2278 highlight the importance of the Libyan State financial institutions, including the National Oil Corporation, the Central Bank of Libya, and the Libyan Investment Authority, continuing to function for the benefit of all Libyans. The UK maintains regular contact with the Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) on a range of issues, including the importance of resuming Libya's oil production to generate the vital revenue needed to enable the Government to provide essential services for the Libyan people, including electricity, healthcare, infrastructure, and other services.
