answer text
The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine reports that the situation on the ground in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions of eastern Ukraine remains tense. A ceasefire agreed in Minsk on 12 February has led to a general reduction in fighting, and some withdrawal of heavy weapons. But some fighting has continued in Shyrokyne and Donetsk Airport, and heavy weapons continue to be used. The OSCE needs to be given full and unhindered access to all areas of the crisis zone so they can verify and monitor the heavy weapons withdrawal.

The heavy fighting around Maryinka, near Donetsk, on 3 June constituted the most serious violation of the ceasefire under the Minsk agreements since February. The OSCE’s report of 3 June presented a clear picture of large amounts of heavy weapons from Donetsk moving westwards towards Maryinka, indicating this was a provocation by the separatists.

more like this

TPP has the potential to be an important part of the global free trade system, alongside agreements that the UK will be party to, such as the EU-US Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and the EU-Japan FTA. We are following TPP’s progress closely and discuss it regularly with those countries involved. We will undertake a fuller assessment of its implications once the detail of the deal becomes clear.
more like this

answer text
We acknowledge that need for appropriate regulation of NGOs in Pakistan, but we remain concerned at recent attempts to close Save the Children’s Islamabad office and have raised the issue at the highest levels on a number of occasions. On 12 June, the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my right hon. Friend the Member for Runnymede and Weybridge (Mr Hammond), raised our concerns with his counterpart in Pakistan. I raised the issue with the Pakistan High Commissioner on 11 June. We are pleased that Save the Children has been able to resume operations in Pakistan and we continue to monitor developments.
more like this

answer text
We are aware of reports of a small number of British citizens fighting against ISIL in Syria and Iraq, but are not able to estimate accurately the total number. The UK advises against all travel to Syria and against travel to much of Iraq. Anyone who does travel to these areas, for whatever reason, is putting themselves in considerable danger. The Syrian National Coalition, which we recognise as the sole legitimate representatives of the Syrian people, have made clear that they do not want foreign fighters to come to their country. The best way for the British public to help the people of Syria and Iraq is to support UK registered charities that are providing humanitarian relief to those affected by the conflict.
more like this

answer text
Five British nationals have reported their involvement in incidents caused by Boko Haram. However, we believe that more than 4,000 people were killed last year by Boko Haram, primarily in north-east Nigeria, but also in terrorist attacks throughout the country. The United Nations estimates that more than 1.5 million people have been displaced by Boko Haram’s terrorist activities.

As reflected in Travel Advice, terrorist groups in Nigeria, including Boko Haram, continue to pose a significant threat to British nationals and British interests in parts of the country. We believe that the terrorist group Ansaru are responsible for the murder of at least nine foreign hostages, including two British nationals in separate incidents in Nigeria in 2012 and in 2013. The UK has made clear our commitment to standing by Nigeria in its fight against terrorism.
more like this

We are in close touch with international partners to that end. At the current time we are urging the parties to avoid taking any steps which will make the search for peace harder.
