We have regular dialogue with Malaysian ministers on human rights and I discussed Pastor Koh's case with civil society representatives during my recent visit to Malaysia. Our High Commissioner has also raised Pastor Koh's case with the Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister. The Government of Egypt has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the rights of minorities and to the need to promote religious tolerance. We welcome President Sisi's calls for peaceful co-existence and the Government of Egypt's expression of support for the rights of Christians and for religious tolerance.</p><p>Combating sectarian violence in Egypt is a shared strategic objective for the Egyptian and British governments. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/02/2017 answer text <p>We were deeply concerned to hear about the murder of Pastor Jean-Paul Sankagui; faith leaders play an important role in bringing reconciliation, diffusing tensions and promoting social cohesion in the Central African Republic (CAR).</p><p>We remain concerned by the serious violence which has continued throughout CAR since September 2016, leaving thousands displaced and hundreds killed. Our non-resident Ambassador met President Touadera in Bangui earlier this month where he raised the security situation and the destabilising effect armed groups are having on the country.</p><p>We will continue to raise our concerns about the security situation, including incidences such as the murder of Pastor Sankagui, in our contacts with the CAR Government. The freedom to practise, change or share your faith or belief without discrimination or violent opposition is a fundamental human right that all people should enjoy. The UK regularly raises human rights concerns with the Sri Lankan government. Most recently, the Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my noble Friend, the Rt Hon. the Baroness Anelay of St Johns stressed the importance of Sri Lanka protecting the rights of all its citizens when she met with the Sri Lankan Prime Minister and Foreign Minister during her visit to Sri Lanka in November 2016.</p><p>The UK is committed to supporting government and civil society efforts to improve human rights in Sri Lanka and we are currently funding a range of projects in support of this.
