answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/04/2019 answer text <p>The United Kingdom has expressed concern to the Colombian Government over delays to the transitional justice system, which is a critical part of the peace process. The Special Jurisdiction for Peace continues to function under existing legal provisions despite recent objections of President Duque to certain articles of the law. The law has now been returned to Congress. The UK believes that the delay risks undermining the system's authority and reducing cooperation with the FARC. We believe that the Transitional justice law must be approved swiftly to ensure continued confidence in the peace process. On 11 March, our Ambassador in Colombia informed President Duque of the UK position. More generally, it is in everyone’s interests that China’s investments abroad, and particularly in Africa, develop using international standards and global best practice, in order to attract international investment and to achieve sustainable, inclusive development outcomes<strong>,</strong> which benefit all countries concerned. Due to the circumstances on the ground, we are not in a position to make an accurate estimate of the number. The broader political events in Sudan will likely have an impact on the capacity of the Sudanese authorities to engage in a number of fora and mechanisms, including the Khartoum Process, however it is not yet clear what this impact will be. Tackling the root causes of irregular migration, combatting organised immigration crime and addressing the devastating effects of trafficking is a key UK priority. As a former Chair, the UK remains committed to playing our full part in the Khartoum Process; we are on the Steering Committee; the Khartoum Process is one of many ways the UK engages with East African partners to address these shared threats. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/04/2019 answer text <p>In October 2018 the Minister of State for the Commonwealth and the UN, Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon discussed human rights, including Freedom of Religion or Belief in Mexico with the former Mexican Ambassador to the UK, now Deputy Foreign Minister. We work closely with the Government of Mexico to support a broad human rights agenda. Through the Prosperity Fund, we support the consolidation of Mexico's new criminal justice and anti-corruption systems, by providing technical support to strengthen investigative capacities. In November 2018, during Mexico's Universal Periodic Review, the UK made recommendations to Mexico about accountability for human rights violations, independence of the National Prosecutor's Office and on addressing impunity for violence against human rights defenders.</p><p>Officials in our Embassy in Mexico City and ministers have contact with Civil Society Groups, including Christian Solidarity Worldwide, to help inform our understanding of the situation on the ground. Mexico has close to universal access to basic education.
