answer text There are seven offshore gas fields off the coast of Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories (Leviathan, Tamar, Dalit, Gaza Marine (aka Marine 1), Noa (aka Marine 2), Mari B and Nir). Currently, only the Mari B and Tamar fields, controlled by Israel, are being exploited. Marine 1/Gaza Marine lies entirely within the control of the Palestinian Authority. Marine 2/Noa straddles the Gaza/Israeli maritime border and so has been split on that basis into two fields: Noa South (under the control of the Palestinian Authority) and Noa (under the control of Israel). This issue has been discussed at EU level in the context of how to facilitate a sustainable and long-term solution to the energy crisis in Gaza. more like this

answer text
The UK is firmly committed to the promotion and protection of human rights and compliance with international law. We are considering our position on the conference. It is important that any conference of the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Conventions takes a balanced and non politicised approach. It should consider any violations, including attacks emanating from the Occupied Palestinian Territories, and action by all parties (i.e. Israel, Hamas and other militant groups).
more like this

answer text We have not raised this UN report with the Israeli authorities, but are working with them to ensure continued smooth access to Gaza for UK medical professionals as part of the Department for International Development's Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) programme. The EU continues to urge the parties to fully implement the temporary mechanism for monitoring and verification of reconstruction materials negotiated by the UN, Palestinian Authority and Israel, as an important step towards the necessary urgent opening of all crossing points. The EU continues to stress the importance of a change of the Israeli policy, allowing Gaza to trade normally and on a permanent basis. more like this

answer text
The EU does not directly fund the Palestinian National Security Forces. The UK and EU do fund projects aimed at supporting Palestinian state building. It is important that the Palestinian Authority continues work to build and maintain the institutions and economic underpinnings of the future Palestinian state, including transparency and good governance.
more like this
