answer text <p>The Foreign Secretary raised our human rights concerns with Egypt's President Sisi during his visit to Cairo on 25 February 2017. This included emphasising the importance of a free and open society. answer text <p>I raised the ongoing conflict in Ukraine with Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov in London on 10 March. The Foreign Secretary also raised the UK's concerns about the conflict in Ukraine with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a meeting of G20 Foreign Ministers in February this year. UK officials continue to raise our concerns through political and military channels with representatives of the Russian Government.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Both the Prime Minster and the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_Secretary" target="_blank">Foreign Secretary</a> have made publicly clear that the UK will continue to protect and promote Gibraltar’s interests. The Royal Navy challenges all maritime incursions into British Gibraltar Territorial Waters and my Department backs this up by making formal diplomatic protests to the Spanish government. Officials in Madrid meet regularly with their Spanish counterparts to raise our specific concerns.</p> more like this

answer text <p>In November 2016 the Foreign and Commonwealth Office expressed concern at the National People's Congress Standing Committee's decision to express its interpretation of the Basic Law before conclusion of related legal proceedings in Hong Kong. The cases referred to are a matter for the Hong Kong Courts. We believe that the rule of its law remains robust overall thanks in part to its world class independent judiciary.</p> more like this
