answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 31/10/2017 answer text <p>We welcome the swift and widespread condemnation by the Nigerian Government of calls for Igbo residents to be evicted from parts of Northern Nigeria. We welcome in particular the swift condemnation by the Governors of the Northern states and then Acting President Osinbajo. During my visit to Nigeria in June I discussed community tensions in Nigeria with the Governor of Kaduna. We echo President Buhari's recent call for calm and reconciliation between the many ethnic groups and communities that make up and contribute to the strength and diversity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.</p><p>I welcome the fact that the Northern Nigerian Youth Groups have subsequently rescinded their call for Igbos to be evicted. During the recent Interactive Dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran at the UN, the UK raised the treatment of religious minorities, including the Baha'i. The British Government supports the UN Special Rapporteur's assessment that discrimination against the Baha'i community in Iran is aggravated by a lack of constitutional recognition and the absence of other legal protections for adherents of this faith. At the Human Rights Council in March 2017, the UK strongly supported the renewal of the mandate of the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran. The UK also supported the Special Rapporteur's recent report on the status of human rights in Iran during the recent Interactive Dialogue at the General Assembly in New York. We strongly condemn this mistreatment and continue to work closely with our partners including the EU to raise the issue directly with the <em>de facto </em>authorities. The immediate release of all Baha'is in Yemen imprisoned for their religious beliefs was a key demand in the September UN Human Rights Council Resolution, which we supported. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/10/2017 answer text <p>We have received no reports on the abduction of young people in Darfur for the purposes of militia recruitment or for body parts for medical purposes.</p><p>The UK remains concerned by the situation in Darfur, and whilst we have seen a welcome reduction in armed conflict between government forces and armed movements in recent months, the security and humanitarian situation remains fragile. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/10/2017 answer text <p>​The Government remains gravely concerned about continued demolition of Palestinian property by the Israeli authorities including proposals to demolish the Bedouin villages of Khan al-Ahmar and Susiya.</p><p>The UK continues to call on the Israeli authorities to halt proposals to demolish Khan al-Ahmar and Susiya. Prior to the most recently scheduled Israeli High Court hearing about Khan al-Ahmar on 25 September –subsequently postponed - our Embassy in Tel Aviv raised our concerns with the Israeli authorities on 24 September. Due to the high number of such cases, we do not intervene as a general rule in cases regarding non-British nationals, with few exceptions such as in certain circumstances of extreme humanitarian need.</p><p>The Foreign and Commonwealth Office regularly raises the issue of delay and refusal of exit permits with counterparts in the Israeli government. We have lobbied at the highest levels on easing restrictions on movement, including the Foreign Secretary to Prime Minister Netanyahu in August 2017. We continue to work with partners to lead the international response, and encourage all sides to bring an end to conflict, allow humanitarian access, and return to an inclusive political process.</p><p>We are strongly encouraging all sides to respond constructively to the recent initiative led by the Intergovernmental Authority on Development to revitalise the peace process. The immediate priority must be a negotiated ceasefire and a peace process that facilitates the participation of non-armed actors. We also continue to lobby the government of South Sudan to allow the UN Mission in South Sudan to effectively fulfil its mandate, and for the swift deployment of the Regional Protection Force.</p><p>The UK is one of the largest humanitarian donors to South Sudan, and spent £168 million through our bilateral aid programme in 2016/17.
