However, the Government, in the 2017/18 Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) grant letter stated:</p><p> </p><p>“The Government is clear that efficiency includes demonstrating restraint in senior pay and remains concerned about the substantial upwards drift in salaries of some top management. It is essential that we have the best people to lead our schools if we are to raise standards.</p><p>We hold an analysis of multi-academy trusts that pay staff more than £150,000, but do not have a list of those between £140,000 and £150,000. The analysis does not identify the names of the individuals nor whether they are the chief executive. The latest available data, for the year ended 31 August 2015, is in the table below, which identifies 71 trusts (3%) paying over £150,000. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/07/2017 answer text <p>Schools and local authorities have had the power to issue penalty notices since 2004.</p><p>Every local authority must draw up a Code of Conduct for issuing penalty notices, in consultation with governing bodies and head teachers in their area. The Code will set out the occasions when it will be appropriate to issue a penalty notice. This can for example include circumstances where a pupil is persistently late to school without a valid reason. A penalty notice must be issued in accordance with that Code.</p><p>There is no formal appeals process where a parent is issued with a penalty notice and they deem this to be incorrect; however, parents can discuss their situation with the local authority and ask for the penalty notice to be withdrawn. We believe that the current funding arrangements are unfair and we remain committed to changing them.</p><p>We received over 25,000 responses to the consultation, which we are analysing in detail. We are grateful to all those who expressed their views on school funding and the proposed formula as part of this process. We will publish the response to the consultation in due course. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/07/2017 answer text <p>The Department for Education does not hold data on condition funding for schools by constituency, and has responsibility for schools in England only. The Department has allocated over £9 billion in school condition funding nationally from 2011-12 to 2017-18. Allocations total £1.4 billion a year in every year from 2011-12 to 2017-18. In addition, the £4.4 billion Priority School Rebuilding Programme is rebuilding or refurbishing those school buildings in the worst condition across the country.</p><p>Barnsley East is part of Barnsley local authority, which received condition funding (including Devolved Formula Capital, provided directly to schools) of over £24 million from the 2011-12 to 2017-18 financial years, an average of £3.5 million per year. This totals £4.7 million in 2011-12, £4.1 million in 2012-13, £3.5 million in 2013-14, £2.7 million in 2014-15, £2.8 million in 2015-16, £3.4 million in 2016-17 and £3.5 million in 2017-18. Local authorities decide how allocations are distributed to maintained schools in their areas. These amounts do not include allocations made to academies in the area.
