answer text <p>We know that certain states routinely use hybrid warfare, disinformation, ‘bots’ and hacking as foreign policy tools. It’s not surprising that they should try to influence the UK to further their own agendas. There is no evidence of successful interference, but the UK is not complacent to this threat. We are actively monitoring to identify and understand disinformation campaigns, and are taking action to ensure our democracy remains secure.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Cabinet Office is leading and coordinating the cross-departmental Prepare for EU Exit public information campaign to help fulfil the Government’s duty to inform citizens and businesses about how leaving the EU might affect them, and to advise them on the steps they may need to take to prepare. To date we have used a range of paid-for and no-cost channels to direct citizens and businesses to a dedicated area on <a href="http://gov.uk/" target="_blank">GOV.UK</a> at Gov.uk/euexit.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Cabinet Office has undertaken to publish information relating to ongoing expenditure on the public information campaign as part of the department’s regular data transparency releases. This is a cyclical process that enables guidance to be tailored to each sector and ensures NCSC provides quality advice to industry. To support this approach NCSC gathers a range of data to ensure impact. answer text <p>The Electoral Commission (EC) has a statutory responsibility to promote awareness of elections, including registration. In this capacity the EC leads public awareness campaigns on voter registration, notably ahead of elections.</p><p> </p><p>The Government works in partnership with the EC to coordinate cross-government support for these campaigns. This includes sharing public awareness campaign materials through government social media accounts, such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as wider networks. The Government, however, does not have an allocated budget for advertising voter registration deadlines.</p> more like this

answer text <p>FOXHOUND is a Cabinet Office-led, cross-government IT programme to develop and deploy a new secure capability for managing sensitive information, including that which is classified up to and at SECRET. As a classified programme it would not be appropriate to provide details of the scale and resource the Programme engages. That said, the Programme is led by civil servants and the capability has been developed in-house, drawing on contractor resource only where absolutely necessary. The development and delivery costs are competitive set against the more traditional outsourcing approach.</p> more like this
