answer text <p>A number of councils, including Lancashire County Council, have requested invitations under the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 to submit proposals for unitary local government in their areas. The Government is now carefully considering these requests, and where any invitation is issued it will be for the councils concerned to decide what if any locally led reorganisation proposals they put forward.</p> more like this
