The Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointments and the Parliamentary Secretary (Minister for the Constitution) Chris Skidmore MP, maintain an overview of all public appointments. We have already provided local authorities with the assurance that we would aim that no authority will receive less in 2017/18 than we estimate they would have received under the DWP fee (assuming increasing demand in line with recent national trends). The new system will have stronger incentives to boost growth, and areas that take bold decisions to further increase growth will see the benefits. We will be giving councils the power to cut the business rates multiplier to improve the business environment for enterprise and attract further businesses to their area. But we recognise that not all councils are the same.
