answer text <p>The Work Programme has revolutionised how we help the long-term unemployed into work. It is designed to be good value for the taxpayer because providers only get paid on the results they achieve when they get someone into a lasting job, usually at least six months (or 3 for the hardest to help). So far more than 330,000 long-term unemployed people have been helped to escape long-term unemployment thanks to the Work Programme, which has contributed to the largest annual drop in long-term unemployment since 1998.</p><p> </p><p>The below table shows job outcome payments from the most recently published financial information, covering the period from June 2011 to the 31st March 2014.</p><p> </p><table><tbody><tr><td><p><strong>Payment Group</strong></p></td><td><p><strong>Job Outcome payments </strong></p></td></tr><tr><td><p>1) Jobseeker’s Allowance 18 to 24</p></td><td><p>£80,280,000</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>2) Jobseeker’s Allowance 25 and over</p></td><td><p>£151,468,000</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>3) Jobseeker’s Allowance early entrants</p></td><td><p>£74,377,000</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>4) Jobseeker’s Allowance ex-Incapacity Benefit</p></td><td><p>£3,537,000</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>5) Employment and Support Allowance volunteer</p></td><td><p>£3,254,000</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>6) New Employment and Support Allowance claimant</p></td><td><p>£12,030,000</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>7) New Employment and Support Allowance ex-Incapacity Benefit</p></td><td><p>£3,254,000</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>8) Incapacity Benefit and Income Support</p></td><td><p>£521,000</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>9) Jobseeker’s Allowance prison leavers</p></td><td><p>£3,068,000</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>Total payments</p></td><td><p>£331,789,000</p></td></tr></tbody></table>
