answer text <p>Public libraries are funded by local authorities and each local authority is responsible for assessing the needs of their local communities and designing a library service to meet those needs within available resources.</p><p>DCMS is aware of the current consultation on proposed changes to opening hours at a number of libraries in Buckinghamshire, including Aylesbury. DCMS officials have met with Buckinghamshire County Council officers to ensure that they are aware of the Council's statutory duty under the Public Libraries and Museums Act 1964 to provide a comprehensive and efficient library service, and to advise officers on the Secretary of State's duty of superintendence, which includes the consideration of formal complaints that a library authority is not carrying out their duties under the 1964 Act.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The National Lottery has raised over £49 billion for good causes since 1994. In the last five years, over £6 billion of funding and 120,000 grants were delivered by distributor bodies.</p><p>The National Lottery grants database which details the allocations made, is publically available at <a href="https://nationallottery.dcms.gov.uk/charts" target="_blank">https://nationallottery.dcms.gov.uk/charts</a>.</p><p>Data regarding society lottery good causes funding is updated annually by the Gambling Commission. answer text <p>Prize competitions and free prize draws are not subject to statutory regulatory control under the Gambling Act 2005. However, they must comply with the requirement in the Act to offer a free entry route for participation by post and/or offer paid entries online, in order to avoid being considered as an illegal lottery. Whilst the Gambling Commission has no regulatory responsibilities for these products, it does monitor the boundary between them and lotteries.</p><p>Prize draw operators must also comply with relevant consumer protection legislation.</p><p> </p> more like this

The British Museum is operationally independent of the Government.</p><p>We are aware that the Chair of the Trustees, George Osborne, has had talks with Greek Ministers on the issue, seeking a constructive partnership. We value the work that the British Museum does internationally, and welcome the success of their partnerships, such as the recent collaboration between the British Museum, the V&amp;A, and the Manhyia Palace Museum in Ghana.</p><p>With regards to the legal title for the Parthenon Sculptures, the removal of the sculptures was lawful and well-documented. They were transferred to the British Museum in 1816 and have been the legal property of the British Museum, not the UK Government, since then.</p><p> </p> more like this
