answer text <p>The UK is committed to working with our international partners to promote and protect the rights of LGBT+ people. The UK and Argentina extended their tenure as Equal Rights Coalition (ERC) co-chairs by one year until June 2022 to compensate for the limitations imposed on many ERC governments during most of 2020 due to COVID 19. Succession planning remains an ERC Executive Committee priority.</p><p>The Five Year Equal Rights Coalition (ERC) Strategy was shared with ERC Member States on 29 April, to be operationalised at a virtual ERC conference on 6 and 7 July 2021, where considerations around publication will be agreed.</p> more like this

This distribution is aligned to the UK national programme covering staff and dependants for whom the UK Government has duty of care. answer text <p>We repeatedly call on Israel to abide by its obligations under international law and have a regular dialogue with Israel on legal issues relating to the occupation, including the treatment of Palestinian children. Officials from the British Embassy in Tel Aviv last raised the issue of Palestinian children in detention on 19 March with the Israeli Ministry of Defence.</p><p>We continue to stress the importance of the Israeli security forces providing appropriate protection to the Palestinian civilian population, in particular the need to protect children.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The US and Taliban agreement of 29 February 2020 set out a timetable for all international troops to leave Afghanistan. This was expected to be 1 May 2021. The UK has been in regular contact with the US on many issues, including Afghanistan. The Foreign Secretary discussed Afghanistan with US Secretary Blinken ahead of the US and NATO announcement on 14 April. answer text <p>The UK utterly condemns the attack near Sayed-ul-Shuhada girls school in Kabul. Schools should never be a target. We continue to call for an immediate end to attacks on civilians, as well as a significant reduction in violence as a pathway to a comprehensive ceasefire. We also underline to all sides that any political settlement must protect the progress made in the country, including protection for women and minorities.
