answer text
The Foreign Secretary spoke with Prime Minister Abiy on 10 November and called for the immediate de-escalation of violence, for the protection of civilians and for unfettered humanitarian access. He reiterated these messages when he met Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister Demeke on 25 November and made clear that all parties to the conflict need to want to find a political solution. I also stressed these points when I spoke with the Ethiopian Minister of Finance on 16 November and the Ethiopian Ambassador in London on 18 November, as well as in my tweets of 9 December and 24 November. Our Ambassador in Addis Ababa continues to engage the Government of Ethiopia in support of these objectives.
more like this

The 1996 Hong Kong Garrison Law states that the Garrison shall notify the Hong Kong Government in advance of any military activities it is to conduct, such as training exercises and manoeuvres which 'may affect public interests.' Both Annex I, Section XII of the Joint Declaration and Article 14 of the Hong Kong Basic Law state that Chinese military forces stationed in Hong Kong for national defence purposes shall not interfere in Hong Kong's internal affairs. We are closely monitoring the cases of Maira Shahbaz and Arzoo Raja. We regularly raise our concerns about Freedom of Religion or Belief, women and girls' rights and gender equality with the Government of Pakistan at a senior level. On 19 October, the Minister of State for South Asia and Minister responsible for Human Rights, Lord (Tariq) Ahmad of Wimbledon, raised our concerns about child, early and forced marriage and forced conversion of women and girls with Pakistan's Minister for Human Rights, Dr Shireen Mazari. In addition, Lord Ahmad raised our concerns about Freedom of Religion or Belief with Dr Mazari on 16 November. The British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Dr Christian Turner CMG, raised our concerns about the case of Maira Shahbaz with the Governor of Punjab, Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, on 16 November.
more like this

The freedom to practise, change or share one's faith or belief without discrimination or violent opposition is a human right that all people should enjoy. This includes having access to religious texts and being allowed to worship in a manner of their choosing.
