This reflected our commitment to put climate change at the heart of our development programmes. The EU has contracted the Georg Eckert Institute, a specialist textbook analysis centre, to lead this review.</p><p>To ensure the review could begin immediately on the signing of the contract, the UK commissioned the Georg Eckert Institute to produce an inception report to establish its methodology in advance.</p><p>We understand from the EU that an interim report covering grade 8 – 10 books will be completed in Spring 2020, with the full report covering all the books due later in the year. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/02/2020 answer text <p>The UK Government recognises that older people experience a range of complex barriers in developing countries around the globe.</p><p>DFID’s vision is a world where all people, in all stages of their lives, are engaged, empowered and able to exercise their rights. Ageing is an important factor in our efforts to tackle extreme poverty, ensure inclusion and in our approach to ‘leave no-one behind’. For example, DFID’s Disability Inclusion Strategy and Strategic Vision for Gender Equality take a life-course approach, ensuring the delivery of transformative change for people all ages.</p><p>We are also supporting governments to make vital social protection systems more inclusive of older people. In Uganda, DFID continues to build on its partnership with the Government of Uganda to deliver a Senior Citizen Grant. In particular, the programme focuses on addressing the growing burden of non-communicable diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer; and driving improvements in quality of care to reduce infection, injury or premature death. This will directly benefit women and poorer groups who are often particularly affected as a result of these health challenges. It is destroying crops, livelihoods and essential food supplies.</p><p>UK aid is helping to tackle this outbreak though the UN Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF). The CERF has released £7.5 million to the UN Food and Agriculture Office (FAO) Locust Appeal. Our support is having an immediate impact, with UK aid backed funding, the FAO is spraying pesticides on the ground and by air to prevent further damage to crops and protect livelihoods.</p><p>DFID’s existing humanitarian and development programming in the region is working to address current food insecurity and poverty challenges and is ready to flex to respond to this crisis. In September 2019 the UK’s flagship £220 million neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) programme was launched, which will provide treatment and care for NTDs to 200 million people. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/02/2020 answer text <p>DFID’s research funding is allocated competitively mostly on the basis of open calls for proposals focussing on the need in Developing Countries. Three of our research programmes are dedicated to Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), one of which, the Coalition for Operational Research on NTDs (COR-NTD), includes seven research projects that address leprosy with other diseases. Two of these proposals also include research on diagnostic approaches. With DFID funding, COR-NTD has also launched a specific call for proposals on leprosy research. We expect the evaluation of this call within the next four weeks. Current funding for COR-NTD is planned until 2021.</p><p>DFID does not have dedicated funding for leprosy control, but we support some programmes that include work on leprosy through UK Aid Direct. Additionally, some of our work on health system strengthening contributes to tackling leprosy. We do not disaggregate this funding by disease that would enable us to provide an actual figure.
