answer text <p>The UK remains committed to reducing conflict in South Sudan. We support the ongoing peace process, including by providing funding through the Conflict Stability and Security Fund to region led monitoring bodies – the Revitalised Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (R-JMEC) and the Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring and Verification Mechanism (CTSAMVM). We also provide support to civil society to help hold the parties accountable to the peace deal, and to the South Sudan Council of Churches for their dialogue and reconciliation work. In the coming months we will launch a Peacebuilding Opportunities Fund to foster innovative and sustainable peacebuilding initiatives, primarily at the local level.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Fifth Replenishment Conference for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria took place on 15 and 16 September in Montreal, Canada.</p><p>At the conference, the Secretary of State announced an investment of £1.1billion in the Global Fund, including a commitment to double private sector contributions for tackling malaria, up to a maximum of £200million, and £90million linked to successful delivery against a performance agreement.</p><p>The UK’s investment will help to fund 40million bednets to tackle malaria; provide enough lifesaving anti-retroviral therapy for 1.3million people with HIV; and support the treatment of 800,000 people with tuberculosis. Overall, our investment will help the Global Fund to save 8million lives, avert 300million infections and help build resilient and sustainable systems for health.</p> more like this

answer text <p>DFID aims to meet our commitments to support 60 million people to gain access to sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene services (WASH), through a range of programmes delivered by our Country Offices and from central teams.
