She asked them to provide her with assurance that the systems and culture that are needed to protect vulnerable people are in place and that they have referred any and all concerns organisations may have on specific cases and individuals to the relevant authorities. DFID officials are now analysing those responses with independent oversight and have shared returns with the Charity Commission. We will share key findings, trends and themes at our Safeguarding Summit on 5 March and will then conduct further in depth analysis as required. I reiterated that UK Export Finance will offer up to £750 million of export finance in any given year for infrastructure projects in Iraq under its ten year MoU.</p><p>A large number of private sector companies from numerous nations also attended, highlighting the interest from potential foreign investors. We first became aware that sexual allegations might be involved when Oxfam contacted the department in January 2018 and only knew the full extent of those allegations on 5 February. I met with Oxfam on 12 February to discuss the allegations and their response. On 16 February, Oxfam replied to DFID’s initial request for assurances and met my initial demands. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/02/2018 answer text <p>I refer the hon Member to my answers to PQ 129092 and PQ 129086 for actions taken in response to Oxfam.</p><p>My Department has created a new unit to urgently review safeguarding across all parts of the aid sector to ensure everything is being done to protect people from harm, including sexual exploitation and abuse.</p><p>DFID and the Charity Commission will hold a Safeguarding Summit on 5 March, where we will meet with UK international development charities, regulators and experts to confront safeguarding failures and agree practical measures we can take forward. I have called on all organisations to safeguard everyone that they come into contact with, including beneficiaries, staff and volunteers, and that organisations must report every serious incident or allegation, no matter how damaging it is to their reputation. According to UNRWA, there are approximately 460,000 registered in Lebanon. Many displaced Palestinians from Syria living in Lebanon depend heavily on UNRWA assistance. We are keeping in close contact with regional representatives to understand risks to UNRWA’s sustainability and continue to work closely with UNRWA, the United States, and other European Union partners on how to maintain continuity of key services such as education and health for Palestinian refugees across the region, including in Lebanon.
