We support efforts that work towards a living income in global supply chains.</p><p> </p><p>The UK was the first country to produce a National Action Plan for the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, demonstrating a high level of commitment that will feed into any future trade policy. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/02/2019 answer text <p>The Venezuelan health system has collapsed, formerly controlled preventable diseases need to be controlled and this is leading to further outbreaks within neighbouring countries.</p><p> </p><p>The UK has stepped up and has announced an emergency aid package of £6.5 million to respond to the most severe health needs by providing immunisations against deadly diseases, supporting emergency rooms and ensuring that people who are fleeing their homes have access to crucial support, including through the provision of mobile health clinics.</p><p> </p><p>Additionally, DFID has deployed two humanitarian advisors to the region and funded seven additional roles within UN agencies to help respond to the crisis. We provide significant core funding to the UN, Red Cross movement and other international actors to alleviate the worsening humanitarian situation. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/02/2019 answer text <p>The UK supports garment factory workers, more than 70% of whom are female, by improving building safety and working conditions, empowering workers, and urging buyers to take responsibility for their supply chains.</p><p> </p><p>DFID provided £7.4m (2013-2017) to the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to improve factory conditions post Rana Plaza collapse. The subsequent ‘Better Jobs in Bangladesh’ programme provides £6.6m (2017-2023) for sustainable inspection and remediation. The UK is also providing £22.43m (2014-2021) to enhance the provision of skills training in the RMG and Construction sectors. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/02/2019 answer text <p>The UK government is a strong supporter of the Fairtrade movement, which plays an important role in helping producers around the world improve their lives through receiving fair prices for their products. Between 2010 and 2018, the Department for International Development invested over £20.2m into Fairtrade.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>DFID has funded the development of Fairtrace, a technology-based supply chain mapping tool which has helped Fairtrade to broaden their commercial customer base. The tool has been used by major UK businesses such as The Co-op and Ben &amp; Jerry’s. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/02/2019 answer text <p>DFID uses and supports the OECD Development Assistance Committee’s (DAC) system for Official Development Assistance (ODA) statistics and the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI), which both facilitate harmonised reporting from donors.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The OECD DAC system provides authoritative ODA spend statistics from donor countries according to the internationally agreed definition of ODA, which enables donor effort to be reported in a standardised and comparable format. As a DAC member, the UK is committed to transparent reporting of ODA in a way that allows international comparisons.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>IATI is an initiative to improve the transparency of development and humanitarian resources, including results, based on a standard reporting format. More than 900 organisations and donors are publishing their data to the IATI standard. Between August 2017 and October 2018, the UK was on the Grand Bargain Facilitation Group, where we sought to maintain momentum on all Grand Bargain workstreams. The UK has also focused its efforts on Grand Bargain commitments that are the most critical enablers of transformative change. The UK co-convenes (along with the World Food Programme) the cash workstream, which was assessed to have had the best performance across the breadth of its commitments in 2017.
