The UK’s £160 million pledge made at the 2020 Yemen Humanitarian Pledging Conference on June 2nd was the third largest by any country and brings our total commitment to Yemen to nearly £1 billion since the conflict started in 2015. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/07/2020 answer text <p>I announced the UK’s commitment of £160 million in new aid for the current financial year (2020/21) at the 2020 Yemen Humanitarian Pledging Conference on 2 June. This was the third highest pledge at the conference and brings the total UK commitment to nearly £1 billion since the conflict began in 2015.</p><p>I can assure you that Yemen remains a key priority for the UK Government and that we have every intention of meeting our commitment. We have already provided 32% of this funding to our humanitarian and development partners operating in Yemen and hope to have disbursed over 50% by the end of July.</p><p>The UK has also announced up to £764 million of aid to support the global efforts to combat the outbreak of COVID-19. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/06/2020 answer text <p>The UK Government has a zero-tolerance policy to the diversion of UK aid funds and seeks to minimise the risks, to ensure our life-saving assistance (such as food, clean water and medical support) reaches those vulnerable Yemenis who need it most.</p><p>We do this by only channelling our support through organisations with a strong record of delivering and monitoring assistance, such as UN agencies and international NGOs. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/04/2020 answer text <p>The UK has already announced £744 million of aid to support the global efforts to combat the outbreak of COVID-19, including helping developing countries like Yemen to rapidly identify and care for patients with symptoms.</p><p>In response to COVID-19, we continue to support the United Nations Children Fund, who are working with Yemen’s Ministry of Health to strengthen the country’s health care capacity.
