Under the AAWAZ I programme (which ended in May 2018) around £400,000 was spent on preventing forced and early marriages. Some of these beneficiaries may also have been affected by forced conversion or child abduction. Under new programming, we plan to spend around £1.88 million in preventing early and forced marriages. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/01/2019 answer text <p>DFID has spent £7.69m to-date since financial year 2015/16 on rule of law initiatives in Pakistan which are funded through the Conflict Stability and Security Fund (CSSF). This has supported work to improve the justice system in Pakistan for citizens.</p><p>HMG makes robust use of the oversees security and justice assessment (OSJAs) process to manage any human rights risks arising from security and justice assistance delivered overseas. A risk assessment has therefore been carried out on the DFID led work in Pakistan. OSJAs include a UK assessment of the human rights situation in a country at a given time and are regularly updated to inform exposure to risk and adjust programme delivery to reduce that risk if necessary. OSJAs therefore need to be candid about the situation in order to work. Asian Development Bank (ADB) consultants engage communities in preparing Land Acquisition and Resettlement Plans which ensure compensation for displacement and loss of livelihoods. Every programme within the portfolio is required to develop a comprehensive monitoring plan to enable assessment of whether the programme is achieving planned results. Programmes use different monitoring arrangements depending on the context, which include a range of internal approaches including field visits and annual reviews as well as independent, external monitoring arrangements. Programmes gather a broad range of evidence to support the management of their programmes and to facilitate robust assessment, including through formal evaluation. Evaluations are carefully selected to ensure their findings add as much value as possible.</p><p> </p><p>DFID has a zero tolerance approach to aid diversion. We have a rigorous set of standard controls and measures to protect UK aid and ensure it reaches those for whom it is intended and delivers results. Our programmes carefully consider aid diversion controls across the programme cycle. Partners are carefully selected and scrutinised to ensure they can manage and deliver the intended programme results. Inclusion and respect for minorities forms an integral part of provincial and national education programmes. Our work to promote tolerance and interfaith harmony includes: training nearly 100,000 teachers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Punjab in equity and inclusion; funding the Alif Ailaan education campaign which focusses on religious minorities; and engaging with education civil society organisations to champion issues of inclusion and raise these with government. Through the KP Education Support Programme (KESP) and the Punjab Education Support Programme II (PESP II), DFID has also provided technical assistance to provincial governments to revise the school curriculum and remove discriminatory content from textbooks.
