answer text <p>Table 1 below provides the estimated proportion of Official Development Assistance (ODA) to be spent by other government departments and cross-government funds based on the Spending Review 2015 settlement. Funding is dispersed across a wide range of departments and cross-government funds. Expected proportions are based on ODA budget allocations announced at Spending Review 2015 in order to meet the government’s commitment to spend 0.7 per cent of Gross National Income (GNI) on ODA in each calendar year. answer text <p>The Government adheres to the definition of Official Development Assistance (ODA) set by the OECD’s Development Assistance Committee (DAC). After several years of complex negotiations, the DAC updated the ODA rules in February 2016 so that they better recognise the challenges to development posed by conflict, insecurity and terrorism, as well as the growing importance of private sector investment. The Government’s priority is to ensure these reforms are implemented effectively.</p><p>As a donor that pursues its national interests by contributing 0.7% of its Gross National Income to ODA, the UK welcomes the DAC’s commitment to keeping ODA relevant and credible.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The information requested for the years 2009-2014 is published in ‘Statistics on International Development 2015’, which is available from our website <a href="http://www.dfid.gov.uk/" target="_blank">www.dfid.gov.uk</a>. Table 3 gives the breakdown of the percentage of Official Development Assistance (ODA) provided by DFID and departments other than DFID. My Department will publish provisional UK ODA figures for 2015 on the 1st April.</p><p> </p><p>Between 2016/17 and 2019/20: DFID will spend an estimated 72% of UK ODA; other departments and funds will spend an estimated 22% of UK ODA; and the remaining 6% will be non-departmental spend such as debt relief and gift aid. This information is based on ODA budget allocations by the government in order to meet its commitment to spend 0.7 per cent of Gross National Income (GNI) on ODA in each calendar year. answer text <p>The Budget document set out reductions to the Official Development Assistance budget of £650m in 2019/20 to reflect revised economic forecasts published by the Office for Budget Responsibility.
