answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/05/2019 answer text <p>The UK regularly meets with a range of organisations to discuss healthcare for Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and surrounding countries, including Medical Aid for Palestinians, the World Health Organisation, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. The UK has made a commitment to UNRWA of up to £80m over the next two years, to help provide medical services and education to Palestinian refugees living across the Middle East. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/05/2019 answer text <p>The UK remains deeply concerned by the situation in Gaza and we continue to engage closely with the World Health Organisation, UN OCHA, MaP, and other health and humanitarian-based NGOs working in Gaza to ensure we are we are able to monitor the situation and humanitarian needs there. The Government has not made its own assessment of this specific issue.</p><p> </p><p>To help ensure hospitals in Gaza can continue to provide essential services on a range of health issues, we provided £1.5 million for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) OPTs Appeal in 2018, and a further £2m in 2019. This new funding will contribute to the delivery of surgical equipment, drugs and disposables, wound dressing kits, and rehabilitative prosthetics. It will also help provide physical rehabilitation services for up to 3,000 disabled people. Using existing crisis mechanisms, both countries’ governments have led on the preparedness and response. The UK has not received any formal requests for support from either Government.</p><p> </p><p>No discussions have been held between the International Development Secretary and the Government of Bangladesh in response to this situation. The DFID Bangladesh team was, however, in close contact with the Government during and immediately following Cyclone Fani. Our support for the economic development agenda includes part-funding the IMF’s technical assistance to The Gambia on revenue mobilisation, public financial management, monetary policy, financial sector regulation and national statistics, as well as our core contributions to the World Bank and African Development Bank’s work. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/05/2019 answer text <p>The UK is deeply concerned about the rise in cholera in Yemen this year, with a suspected 280,000 cases recorded between January and April 2019. In response, the UK has disbursed £18 million last month to help UN agencies meet their most urgent needs such as chlorination of water supply systems, distributing hygiene kits and deploying expert teams to areas most at risk.</p><p> </p><p>To help prepare for outbreaks of cholera, the UK led a joint Met Office, NASA and US scientist team to accurately predict where the disease will spread to in Yemen. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/05/2019 answer text <p>We are acutely aware of the difficult operating environment humanitarian organisations face delivering life-saving assistance in Yemen. As a result we only channel support through organisations with a strong record of delivering and monitoring assistance, such as UN agencies and international NGOs.</p><p>To identify the most vulnerable, UN agencies use a range of tools such as household level assessments. Some, like the World Food Programme, use technology such as biometric verification to confirm that those most in need are being reached.</p><p>Through UK diplomatic channels we press authorities to facilitate aid delivery. This can include getting visas issued or travel permission granted for certain areas.</p><p>Earlier this year the UK brought together heads of UN agencies and lead donors to determine how to better coordinate on the ground to deliver the right interventions at the right time to the most vulnerable.
