DFID’s target is to transfer records selected for permanent preservation to The National Archives in accordance with the transitional timetable for the implementation of the 20 year rule. All 1076 records remaining from 1985/1986 have been reviewed in the current calendar year with 426 selected for transfer. It is expected that only a very small number of these will not be transferred by the end of the year due to the sensitivity of the contents. Three members of DFID staff are involved in the review process.
