The UK will invest up to an additional £4bn in Africa directly, whilst also aiming to mobilise £4bn of private investment into the continent over four years (2018-21).</p><p> </p><p>Benefits will materialise over time. UK investment in Africa supports African economies to grow, building greater opportunities for UK businesses to trade and invest with the continent in the longer-term. CDC investments in Africa build markets and demonstrate to other investors the viability of investing in the continent, creating opportunities for UK investors and businesses. The Prime Minister made this clear in her recent visit to the continent. In Ghana, the UK’s new Jobs and Economic Transformation programme is expected to help the Ghanaian government to generate over £50 million in private investment and create 15,000 jobs. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/09/2018 answer text <p>We firmly believe it is in the interests of both the EU and the UK to strike a deal, and we remain confident that we will agree a mutually advantageous deal with the EU.</p><p> </p><p>We do not want or expect a no deal scenario; however, it is the duty of a responsible Government to continue to prepare for a range of potential outcomes, including the unlikely event of no deal. Should this unlikely outcome materialise, the nature of our future cooperation will necessarily be much more limited.</p><p> </p><p>The UK would still be able to meet its development objectives without channelling development funding through the EU.</p><p> </p><p>The UK and EU will remain global leaders in development in either scenario. We are therefore working to commission a robust study into the new Palestinian textbooks. Our assessment is that the IMPACT-SE report was not objective in its findings and lacked methodological rigour. In May 2018, we assessed the PA had adhered to the terms of the MoU.
