These include policies to reduce smoking; promote healthy diets; tackle misuse of alcohol; and encourage physical exercise. answer text <p>The Government has committed an initial £1.8 million to identify and design an immediate replacement for the National Breast Screening System. Work is underway to scope out the most appropriate alternative. Following the discovery and design phases, and subject to the necessary approvals, further funding will be available to implement the final version.</p><p> </p><p>Improving cancer screening, early diagnosis and treatment is a core part of the NHS Long Term Plan published 7 January 2019.
