Health professionals, once qualified, are expected to stay informed about the latest evidence in clinical practice.</p><p> </p><p>The updated guidance on complex regional pain syndrome, published by the Royal College of Physicians was developed in partnership with 28 other organisations. A number of the organisations involved have sought to promote the guidance via online media and their respective websites. The 2017 audit shows the most recent assessment figures at the following link:</p><p> </p><p><a href="https://files.digital.nhs.uk/pdf/s/7/nadia-17-rep.pdf" target="_blank">https://files.digital.nhs.uk/pdf/s/7/nadia-17-rep.pdf</a></p><p> </p><p>Outcomes associated with diabetic foot disease are significantly better when rapid access to multidisciplinary diabetic foot clinics is possible. In order to achieve this, NHS England has invested approximately £10 million per annum over financial years 2017/18 and 2018/19 for the development of hospital multidisciplinary diabetic foot services where they do not exist in England, and to expand capacity in pre-existing services where additional capacity is required. The guideline ‘Rheumatoid arthritis in adults: management’, updated by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence in 2018, sets out best practice in the diagnosis, treatment, care and support of people with rheumatoid arthritis. The guidance recommends that patients should be offered psychological interventions (for example, relaxation, stress management and cognitive coping skills to help them to adjust to living with their condition).
