answer text
Our priority remains finding diplomatic solutions to de-escalate tensions. It would be inappropriate to speculate on designations under the Global Human Rights ('Magnitsky' style) sanctions regime, particularly as we are still developing the secondary legislation which will bring it into force. The IRGC as a whole remains subject to EU and US sanctions; a large number of associated individuals and entities are also designated. The UK will continue to implement the EU sanctions in the Implementation Period.
more like this

answer text
Our strategic aim remains to de-escalate tensions; to hold Iran to account for its destabilising regional activity; and to keep the diplomatic door open for Iran to negotiate a peaceful way forwards. Sanctions are only one of a number of tools available to the international community to achieve these goals. Sanctions relief in return for commitments by Iran is a core part of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA) – it is essential that Iran engage in good faith with the dispute resolution mechanism under the deal and return to full compliance with its commitments. We continue to support the JCPoA and have always said we regret US withdrawal from the deal and the re-imposition of US sanctions on Iran.
more like this

answer text
The second set of US unilateral sanctions on Iran came into full force on 5 November. We consider it is therefore too soon to be able to fully assess the impact of the reintroduction of these sanctions on refugee and migration flows from Iran. However, Iran continues to be a significant source of migrants to the UK. Its economy has suffered from high inflation and a significant decline in the currency value this year.
more like this

We expect wide-ranging impact, including on trade, infrastructure projects, payment for services and tourism. Given Iran is a major energy supplier, we can expect some countries to diversify. Her Majesty's Government is committed to maintaining the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and as part of this we continue to support legitimate trade with Iran in line with sanctions relief.
more like this

Once it is established, the same will be true for companies that may wish to use the Special Purpose Vehicle. As a party to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA), the British Government remains committed to its full implementation and is in regular communication with the remaining parties to the deal.
more like this
