answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/09/2014 answer text <p> </p><p>The Coalition Government takes seriously all forms of hate crime, including anti-Muslim hatred, seriously and we have legislation in place to protect people from hostility, hatred and violence. <br><br>In May, we published our refreshed cross-Government hate crime action plan - Challenge it, Report it, Stop it, setting out the progress we have made and further steps we will take to address the issue. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/09/2014 answer text <p>Since Her Majesty's Passport Office (HMPO) starting collecting this data in February 2014, 62 cases of passports wrongly delivered or packages damaged on delivery have been reported and investigated by HMPO and this has resulted in passports being cancelled. Subject to the outcome of the investigation, a new passport is issued to the passport holder. This is 0.0017% of the total passports issued for this period. <br><br>New passports are sent to customers by secure courier in the UK and overseas, any expired passports submitted with applications are returned to customers in the UK using second class post and overseas by secure courier which the customer pays for. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/09/2014 answer text <p /> <p>Between April 2011 and June 2014, 2,959 Syrians and their dependants were granted asylum in the UK at initial decision. <br><br>In the same period, 74 Syrians and their dependants were granted Humanitarian Protection/ Discretionary Leave and Other grants (grants under family and private life rules). In addition, 50 Syrian nationals have beengranted Humanitarian Protection under the Vulnerable Persons Relocation scheme since it began in April 2014.<br><br>The Home Office publishes statistics on grants of asylum, humanitarian protection/discretionary leave/other grants at initial decision to main applicants and dependants in Tables as_02 and as_02_q (Asylum data tables Volume 1 and Volume 2) within the Immigration Statistics release. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/09/2014 answer text <p /> <p>As the Prime Minister made clear in his statement on 1 September, Official Report, Column 23, the Government has ‘taken a wide range of measures, including stopping suspects from travelling to the region by seizing passports, barring foreign nationals from re-entering the United Kingdom, legislating so that we can prosecute people for terrorist activity, even where that activity takes place overseas, and bringing forward emergency legislation, for instance to safeguard our use of communications data.’<br><br>He also announced that the Government will bring forward legislation to strengthen powers in specific areas, including disrupting suspects from travelling and dealing decisively with those <br>already here who pose a risk. Details of that legislation will be brought forward at the earliest opportunity.<br><br>A wide range of offences already exists on the statute books, including in the Terrorism Acts 2000 and 2006, under which individuals can be prosecuted if there is evidence they have <br>committed terrorism offences by supporting ISIL. In particular, where there is evidence that individuals are planning, promoting, funding, facilitating or participating in terrorist activities the police and Crown Prosecution Service will seek to prosecute them. Each case is considered individually. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/09/2014 answer text <p /> <p>All permanent members of staff directly employed by Her Majesty’s Passport Office (HMPO) are paid the Living Wage or above.<br><br>HMPO can confirm all agency workers engaged by HMPO after a 12 week qualifying period are paid the equivalent of a permanent member of staff on the starting point of the equivalent grade pay scale. This is in accordance with the requirements placed upon the Department by the Agency Workers Regulations 2010 (as amended).
