<p>In order to meet net zero, the UK needs to move away from fossil fuels for heating.
The Government’s Heat and Buildings Strategy sets an ambition to phase out the installation
of fossil fuel boilers by 2035.</p><p> </p><p>The Government will consult on proposals
for hydrogen-ready boilers to pave the way for a potential transition to hydrogen
for heating, developing a supply chain and associated jobs.</p><p> </p><p>Highly-efficient
heat pumps are important to all strategic approaches to decarbonising heating. Growing
heat pump deployment to 600,000 per year, which the Clean Heat Market Mechanism supports,
is expected to support 30,000 jobs by 2028.</p>
