answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/07/2021 answer text <p>The facial verification software for the NHS App was developed by iProov who also own the copyright. iProov have developed their services using datasets which are highly diverse across age, ethnicity and gender and their services are continually performance-tested to ensure a high-level coverage across all face types.</p><p>NHS login and NHS App store and process personal data within the United Kingdom and European Economic Area. NHS Digital use two approved identity verification suppliers to check the user submitted photographic identity document. This data is processed outside of the device but remains within the control of NHS Digital as the data controller and within the UK. Data leaving the UK is heavily restricted. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/09/2021 answer text <p>Patients have the ability to opt-out of the new General Practice Data for Planning and Research (GPDPR) programme and the dataset will always reflect their current preference.</p><p>We have committed to starting the collection of data only once a number of tests have been met. A patient’s data will be deleted should they choose to opt-out of sharing their data with NHS Digital, even if this is after their data has been uploaded. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/06/2021 answer text <p>The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) also places an emphasis on research activity following patient need including ensuring research is conducted in those parts of the country with the greatest disease burden. The NIHR’s Clinical Research Network (CRN) supports the set-up and delivery of commercial and non-commercial studies and trials across in England, enabling people to participate in relevant research across the country. All National Health Service trusts in England were involved in research supported by the CRN last year.</p><p>On 23 March 2021 the Government published its vision for the future of clinical research delivery in the United Kingdom. This aims to create a research system in which everyone has the opportunity to participate in clinical research, participation is as easy as possible and research is delivered where the patients have greatest need. Where someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 has recently travelled on a flight, contact tracing will be carried out by a public health specialist. Priority is given to contact-tracing close contacts and co-travellers, since these persons face a higher risk than other passengers. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/01/2021 answer text <p>Pulse oximeters are regulated as medical devices and fall within the remit of the United Kingdom’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).</p><p>The MHRA is aware of the potential impact of skin colour on pulse oximeter readings, although no reports of incorrect results due to this factor have been received. Clinicians do not depend entirely upon these readings, instead using them in combination with other diagnostic indicators.</p><p>The MHRA will continue to monitor the safety and performance of pulse oximeters.
