answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/04/2017 answer text <p>The UK supports the moderate opposition in Syria, which has repeatedly underlined its commitment to a negotiated political settlement in line with international agreements. We recognise that the brutality of the Syrian regime has been the primary driver of extremism and terrorism in Syria. In the long term, therefore, terrorism and extremism can only be sustainably defeated in Syria through a political transition.</p><p>We provide certain groups in the moderate opposition with political and practical support so that they can stand up to both the tyranny of Asad and that of Daesh. This has included communications, medical and logistics equipment and equipment to protect against chemical weapons attacks. The UK does not provide weapons to anybody in Syria. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/03/2017 answer text <p>The UN estimates that 643,000 people live in areas that it classifies as ‘besieged’ and 879,000 in areas that it classifies as ‘militarily encircled.’ Under the UN definitions, restrictions placed on ‘besieged’ areas are more severe than those on ‘military encircled’ areas. However, the populations in all these locations are surrounded by armed forces which are restricting aid deliveries and the movement of people, including the sick and wounded. We also work closely with the Government of Bahrain to encourage progress on human rights and to encourage the development of effective and accountable institutions, strengthening the rule of law and justice reform. In particular the UK continues to support oversight institutions, such as the Ministry of Interior Ombudsman and the Prisoners and Detainees Rights Commission, in order to provide independent oversight of police behaviour and detention standards.</p><p>The Government of Bahrain is fully aware of our opposition to the use of capital sentences in all circumstances. The Foreign Secretary reiterated this in his public statement on 15 January. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/03/2017 answer text <p>The number of young people who left local authority care in each of the last 10 years, is provided in the table attached.</p><p> </p><p>In 2012, the Department for Communities and Local Government issued statutory guidance for local authorities on social housing allocations. The guidance makes clear that those leaving care should be treated as a priority group for social housing. In addition, care leavers aged 18-21 are an identified priority need group in homelessness legislation.</p><p> </p><p>In 2014, we introduced the ‘Staying Put’ duty, which requires local authorities to support young people in foster care to remain with their former foster carer(s) until age 21. Class 387 electric trains replace diesel commuter trains in the Thames Valley. They are brand new trains built by Bombardier to the most modern standards, including in respect of lighting and disabled accessibility. The first are already in service on the route between Hayes &amp; Harlington and Paddington. The other type of train is the Intercity Express, which replaces diesel trains on the long-distance routes from Paddington. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/03/2017 answer text <p>The UK remains committed to working with our European partners and Turkey to ensure that the EU-Turkey deal is implemented in an effective and sustainable way.</p><p><br>It is clear that the deal continues to represent an important opportunity to effectively manage migratory flows, tackle people smugglers, and prevent people from making perilous crossings.</p><p><br>The EU Commission published its Fifth Report on the Progress in the Implementation of the EU-Turkey Statement on 2<sup>nd</sup> March 2017. The Report concludes that the Statement is continuing to produce tangible results despite difficult circumstances, with an average daily arrival of 43 illegal migrants compared to 1,700 per day in the month before the Statement.</p><p>We continue to believe that Turkey offers sufficient protection, in both its law and its practise, to justify the return migrants from Greece under the EU-Turkey deal. Turkey has modernised its legal framework for the protection of refugees, and the UK has been monitoring the situation closely since the attempted coup.
