answer text <p>HM Revenue and Customs is working closely with the software industry to ensure that a range of software products (including free software) is available before the commencement of Making Tax Digital in April 2018.</p><p> </p><p>The tax system already provides support via various reliefs and deductions for the purchase of hardware and software as well as other expenditure. As part of the Making Tax Digital consultations, the Government sought views on further financial assistance and support. Given the views expressed, it announced on 31 January that it will continue to consider options for assistance and support alongside the fiscal impacts.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Veterinary Medicines Directorate is working closely with the veterinary profession and livestock sectors to embed responsible use of antibiotics both in stewardship plans and within farm assurance scheme standards and also to set sector-specific targets for reducing antibiotic use by the end of 2017.</p><p> </p><p>Following recommendations made by the Independent Review on AMR, Defra committed to a reduction of 20% in overall antibiotic use in farming by 2018. The most recent data from 2015 show that overall sales of antibiotics for use in livestock dropped by 10%. The government is also considering how future agricultural policy might incentivise high animal health and welfare systems of production.</p> more like this

answer text <p>A key aspect of our prison reform programme will be to address offender mental health and improve outcomes for prisoners. This includes making sure governors are focused on, and accountable for, these outcomes.</p><p> </p><p>Our hard-working prison staff provide vital support to prisoners with mental health issues every day and last year we invested in specialist mental health training for officers.</p><p> </p><p>We also need to improve access to mental health services in the community. We are working with the Department of Health and NHS England to develop a new mental health protocol that will ensure timely access to mental health services so that courts are able to increase their use of mental health treatment requirements as part of a sentence. This will mean that we can intervene earlier, to prevent escalation that ends up in a prison sentence.</p> more like this
