answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/10/2014 answer text <p>The Modern Slavery Operational Leads meeting is held monthly and is chaired by myself. <br>The purpose of the meeting is to engage with law enforcement agencies to ensurethat effective investigations are carried out which can lead to successful prosecutionsand it is an opportunity for law enforcement agencies to update the Home Office on recent operations to tackle modern slavery.<br><br>The following organisations are invited to attend the meeting:<br>• Home Office officials including from the Modern Slavery Unit, UK Border <br>Force, Immigration Enforcement, and Strategy &amp; Delivery Unit;<br>• Cabinet Office officials;<br>• College of Policing;<br>• Crown Prosecution Service;<br>• Gangmasters Licensing Authority;<br>• GCHQ;<br>• HMRC officials;<br>• Metropolitan Police Service – Human Trafficking and Kidnap Unit;<br>• National Crime Agency;<br>• National Policing Lead for Modern Slavery.<br><br>The most recent meeting took place on 16 October, and the previous meeting was on 8 September. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/10/2014 answer text <p>The ‘Modern Slavery: how the UK is leading the fight’ booklet was published in the summer as part of our wider communications campaign to raise awareness that slavery exists in the UK. The booklet provides details of the Government’s comprehensive programme of activity to tackle modern slavery, including: information about how the Modern Slavery Bill will both help law enforcement to fight the crime more effectively and enhance protection and support for victims; detail of how we will ensure relevant partners will play their part; additional work being undertaken to improve victims identification, protection and support; work to safeguard child victims; partnerships with the private sector; and how we our developing our international response. <br><br>600 copies of the booklet have been printed at a cost of £192.84.The booklet has been distributed widely to Parliamentarians, civil society groups, and youth Parliament members. All copies printed to date have been distributed. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/10/2014 answer text <p>The Government funds the Adult Human Trafficking Care and Co-ordination contract which ensures that potential victims of trafficking receive <br>appropriate care and support once they have been identified. As part of this contract and in compliance with our international obligations (Council of Europe Convention and the EU Directive on Trafficking in Human Beings), the Home Office has made it a core requirement for the Contractor to provide access to a range of specialist services, including therapy and counselling, to victims of trafficking who request or require it. <br><br>Such services are not necessarily related to pre-trial circumstances. Most victims of trafficking who are assisting the police are usually called to trial after they have left the service. As a result, pre-trial therapy and counselling would be received from other sources and not under the contract. The NSPCC will be reimbursed for the cost of hosting the <br>hotline, up to a <br>maximum of £50,000 for 12 months from 31 July 2014.<br><br>The purpose of the helpline is to provide potential victims, members of the <br>public and professionals with one consistent telephone number to call if they <br>have concerns related to modern slavery. We are working with a number of <br>non-governmental organisations and law enforcement agencies to ensure that the <br>NSPCC can direct helpline callers to a range of organisations that can <br>provide additional help, advice and support. The helpline will also be a route <br>for potential victims to access Government-funded support. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/07/2014 answer text <p>We are working closely with the NSPCC to pilot a Modern Slavery Helpline as part of a wider communications and marketing campaign, to raise awareness of modern slavery. The helpline will be established by the end of July 2014. We are working with a number of non-governmental organisations and law enforcement agencies to ensure that all callers to the helpline can access any additional help, advice and support they need. <br><br>Training will be provided to all call handlers working on the helpline, which will be delivered by the NSPCC Child Trafficking Advice Centre and the <br>Metropolitan Police Service, building on their specific expertise and knowledge in this area. The training will include the nature of modern slavery, the information to be obtained from individuals who call the helpline as well as organisations that can provide further support and guidance. There are no specific costs to the Home Office associated with providing this training.<br><br>Each call to the helpline will be considered on a case-by-case basis and, where an individual requires further information or advice, the helpline call handlers will provide the details of other organisations for the caller to contact, as appropriate. This is regardless of whether the caller is from an EU or non-EU country. <br><br>Stakeholders, including NGOs, have been engaged in the communications and marketing campaign which underpins the helpline. <br>The NSPCC is ideally placed to deliver what we need given their existing infrastructure and expertise in safeguarding issues. The NSPCC runs a number of helplines, including Childline, FGM helpline and the Child Trafficking Advice Centre (CTAC) line. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/07/2014 answer text <p> </p><p>Information on the whereabouts of adult victims, once they exit <br>Government-funded support services, is not routinely held.<br><br>Although there is no requirement under the UK's European Convention against <br>Trafficking obligations to support a victim once they have exited the service, <br>the Government is looking into ways to provide post-exit support to victims <br>which will enable continuous engagement with them, with the purpose of ensuring <br>their well-being and successful integration into mainstream society or <br>re-integration into their home country. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/07/2014 answer text <p> </p><p>In November 2013, the UK Government and the Albanian Government, working with <br />the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), established a voluntary <br />return package for female victims of trafficking who wished to return to <br />Albania. This comprehensive package includes the provision of secure <br />accommodation in Albania (with guards and social services on site), child care <br />assistance where required, and training or support to establish a business or <br />enter the labour market.
