Last year saw an increase of foreign direct investment into Northern Ireland, with 35 new projects creating over 200 new jobs across Northern Ireland.</p><p> </p><p>Northern Ireland continues to be a great place to invest and do business. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/07/2019 answer text <p>The scope of the Serious Violence Strategy is concerned with homicide, knife crime, and gun crime and areas of criminality where serious violence or its threat is inherent, such as in gangs and county lines drug dealing. It also includes emerging crime threats faced in some areas of the country such as the use of corrosive substances as a weapon.</p><p>Serious violence also extends to other forms of serious assault. We know that a significant proportion of violence is linked to either domestic abuse or alcohol, but these two important elements are not driving the increases we are seeing in violent crime. The strategy also does not address specifically sexual abuse, modern slavery or violence against women and girls. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/07/2019 answer text <p>The Government’s first ever cross-government Victims Strategy outlines our commitments to victims of crime.</p><p> </p><p>The Crown Prosecution Service is responsible for the prosecution of criminal cases. Victims of crime are not separately represented in criminal trials.</p><p> </p><p>Victims of historic sexual abuse have access to an independent sexual violence adviser (ISVA). The ISVA’s role is to ensure the victim receives the right support before, during and after legal proceedings. As part of proceedings, a victim may be called to give evidence as a witness for the prosecution. ISVAs will work alongside the Court-Based Witness Service to support the victim to give their best evidence and participate in the court process.</p><p> </p><p>In April this year, the Ministry of Justice awarded £8m in funding to rape support centres to provide emotional and practical support to victims of sexual violence and historic sexual abuse, including the provision of ISVA services. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/06/2019 answer text <p>Policing is a devolved matter in Northern Ireland and operational capability is a matter for the Chief Constable.</p><p> </p><p>The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland regularly engages with the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) to discuss their priorities.</p><p> </p><p>The UK Government provides the PSNI with the additional security funding it asks for and needs to ensure that they have the resource (including officers) to tackle the SEVERE threat from Northern Ireland related terrorism.</p><p> </p><p>PSNI received £230m additional security funding in the last parliament and £160m in this one. In addition, the UK Government has provided PSNI with £16.5m to help prepare for EU exit. This funding will help the PSNI manage pressures and contingencies arising from EU exit preparations which fall in the 2019/20 financial year. That is why it is in the interests of both sides to maintain trading links once the UK has left the EU; to protect jobs and our economy while allowing us to honour the referendum and realise the opportunities of Brexit.</p><p>The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) publish estimates on trade in employment, including on the amount of jobs linked to exports. Their most recent data from 2011 estimates that 3.4 million jobs were linked to UK exports across the EU. However, VAT does apply to prize machines that offer non-cash prizes only. Such machines are not typically located in adult gaming centres.</p><p> </p><p>(2) There are seven Gambling Duties. Of these, six are based broadly on a gross profits tax model. The seventh, Lottery Duty is based on a percentage of the value of ticket sales.</p><p> </p><p>Total receipts from Betting and Gaming are published on the UK Trade Information website.
