answer text <p>I am aware that Nexus have identified several possible extensions to the Tyne and Wear Metro system. As this is a locally managed system, it would be for Nexus to identify which of these would be the most effective and to develop a business case and seek funding accordingly.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is committed to improving local transport. We will create a £4.2 billion Local Public Transport Fund so city regions can upgrade their bus, train and tram services to make them as good as London’s – with more frequent, modern and environmentally friendly services.</p><p> </p> more like this
