I recognise the efforts Whirlpool has made to rectify the safety issue which affected certain models of tumble dryers; with over 1.5 million appliances modified or replaced. However, I remain concerned that there are many unregistered appliances in use across the UK and my officials remain in close contact Whirlpool and Peterborough City Council Trading Standards to ensure the company contacts those consumers with an affected machine who have not yet signed up for a repair or replacement.
