<p>Table 1, attached, of the National Statistics release ‘Permanent and fixed-period
exclusions in England 2015 to 2016’ contains the number of primary and secondary school
pupils with permanent and fixed-period exclusions. Data for the year 2016/17 is not
yet available.</p><p> </p><p>The table shows that the rate of permanent exclusions
across all state-funded primary, secondary and special schools has increased over
recent years, from 0.06% in 2013/14 to 0.08% in 2015/16. The rate of fixed period
exclusions across all state-funded primary, secondary and special schools has also
increased from 3.50% in 2013/14 to 4.29% in 2015/16.</p><p> </p><p>The full release
