Statistics on expenditure on student support are published annually in the Statistical First Release (SFR) ‘Student Support for Higher Education in England’. This is available in the ‘Official statistics’ section of the SLC’s website.</p><p> </p><p>Provisional figures for the academic year 2014/15 were published in December 2015 and showed that tuition fee loans had been paid to Higher Education providers on behalf of 971,000 students. Of these, we estimate that 73,900 (8%) were for course aims at a level below a full Bachelor’s degree. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/09/2016 answer text <p>The Student Loans Company (SLC) records the nationality and domicile of individuals when they apply for student support. Domicile is based on the applicant’s residence in the years prior to starting their course, and is held as a region within the UK or as EU, rather than by individual country of domicile.<p>Eligibility for student support is based on residence. EU nationals, including non-European Economic Area (EEA) family members, are able to apply for a tuition fee loan if they have been resident in the EEA or Switzerland for the three years prior to the first day of the first academic year of their course. In addition, EU nationals who have been resident in the UK for five years (three years up to academic year 2016/17) and are resident in England prior to starting their course can also apply for maintenance support. EEA migrant workers and their family members, including those who are non-EEA nationals, who meet the residency requirements, are able to apply for both tuition fee and maintenance support. Non-EEA nationals may also be eligible for student support if they are granted refugee status, have been granted humanitarian protection, have acquired permanent residence in the UK, or have been in the UK for at least half their lives or for at least 20 years.</p><p> </p><p>The table below sets out SLC Management Information on the number of students paid either a full-time tuition fee or answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/11/2015 answer text <p>Sources of funding for campaign spend are kept under review but we currently have no plans to introduce a levy on the drinks industry to fund the drink drive campaign.</p><br /><p>Instead our aim is to develop partnerships with brands who can provide incentives to help drivers avoid alcohol if they are driving, or to help those people who are drinking get home safely without driving. These are in line with the environmental target contained within the EU performance scheme. In addition UK industry is actively involved in the Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR) programme which is developing new technology and operational procedures that will lead to further improvements in this area.
