answer text <p>The UK is party to a number of international agreements that provide for obligations and recommended practices around customs procedures and declarations, such as the Revised Kyoto Convention.</p><p>Obligations as to the precise form of the UK customs declarations for imports are established by the UK’s domestic legislation. There is no general exemption regarding the contents of customs declarations for goods being imported under a free trade agreement, including imports that are tariff free and quota free.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>Work to identify an export market for the new Type 31 class of frigate is on-going. A General-Purpose Frigate Export Working Group (GPFEWG), with representatives from cross-Government and Industry, has been set up and is responsible for supporting the realisation of Type 31 export opportunities in support of the National Ship Building Strategy (NSBS). The GPFEWG is meeting regularly to agree the export opportunities and the strategy to pursue them.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The number of negotiators required is dependent on how many trade agreements are ongoing at any given time and will involve teams of differing sizes, with expertise relevant to the specific chapters of sectors. The Department for International Trade has reviewed its resource requirements and continue to do so to ensure that it is sufficiently staffed. Since the Department was created its Trade Policy Group (TPG) has grown to approximately 700 people at the end of June 2019, bringing together trade policy, country specialists and experts on trade policy issues.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government is committed to supporting UK exports. International trade is beneficial to economic growth and is important to achieving long term prosperity and welfare. The Government has a range of policies, in particular the Industrial Strategy, to enable UK firms to compete in global markets.</p><p> </p><p>The Export Strategy, launched in August 2018, sets out how the Government will enable UK businesses to take advantage of international demand for UK goods and services. This support, including impartial export advice from International Trade Advisors and our overseas network in markets across the world, has contributed to the continuing growth in UK exports which increased by 4% to a record high of £647.1 billion in the 12 months to May 2019.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>We welcome the news of political conclusion between the EU and Mercosur on a Free Trade Agreement. As a global champion of trade, the UK has been a strong advocate for these negotiations. The UK has longstanding positive bilateral relationships with individual Mercosur countries and we look forward to deepening our trading ties as we leave the EU. We will be working with our Mercosur partners to develop our future trade relationship in due course.</p><p> </p><p>The EU-Mercosur agreement contains a number of ambitious provisions on promoting sustainable development.
