answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/03/2020 answer text <p>We launched the Export Strategy in August 2018 with the goal of strengthening the UK’s position as a global trading nation.</p><p>I’m pleased to say that UK exports are at a record high, with the latest figures showing exports of £705.1 billion in the 12 months to January 2020. International trade is beneficial to economic growth and is important to achieving long term prosperity and welfare. The Government has a range of policies, in particular the Industrial Strategy, to enable UK firms to compete in global markets.</p><p> </p><p>The Export Strategy, launched in August 2018, sets out how the Government will enable UK businesses to take advantage of international demand for UK goods and services.
