Per pupil funding is 50% more in real-term than in 2000.</p><p>The introduction of the national funding formulae is supported by significant extra investment of £1.3 billion across 2018-19 and 2019-20, over and above the budget announced at the 2015 spending review. Core funding for schools and high needs will rise from almost £41 billion in 2017-18 to £42.4 billion this year and £43.5 billion in 2019-20. This will allow us to maintain school and high needs funding in real terms per pupil for the next two years, and figures from the Institute for Fiscal Studies show that real terms per pupil funding in 2020 will be at least 50% higher than in 2000.</p><p>The following table shows the impact of the fully implemented national funding formula for the four metropolitan boroughs in South Yorkshire. This will direct resources where they are needed most, and provide transparency and predictability for schools.</p><p> </p><p>The Government recognises that schools need stability. This is why the Department has provided protection in the formula, so that every school and every local area, will be allocated an increase of at least 0.5% per pupil in 2018-19 and 1% in 2019-20, over its baseline.</p><p> </p><p>The following table shows the impact of the fully implemented national funding formula for the four metropolitan boroughs in South Yorkshire. It is for ITT providers to use their discretion to determine the content and structure of courses, but they must be designed so that teacher trainees can demonstrate that they meet all of the Teachers' Standards at the appropriate level to be awarded Qualified Teacher Status. The Standards set out the key elements of effective teaching minimum expectations for the professional practice and conduct of teachers. They can be viewed here: <a href="http://www.gov.uk/government/publications/teachers-standards" target="_blank">www.gov.uk/government/publications/teachers-standards</a>.</p><p>Teachers’ Standards require trainees to “have a secure understanding of how a range of factors can inhibit pupils’ ability to learn, and how best to overcome these; and demonstrate an awareness of the physical, social and intellectual development of children, and know how to adapt teaching to support pupils’ education at different stages of development.”</p><p>‘A Framework of core content for Initial Teacher Training’, published in July 2016 says providers “should equip trainees to analyse the strengths and needs of all pupils effectively, ensuring that they have an understanding of cognitive, social, emotional, physical and mental health factors that can inhibit or enhance pupils’ education.” The Framework can be found here: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/initial-teacher-training-government-response-to-carter-review" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/initial-teacher-training-government-response-to-carter-review</a>.</p><p>Ofsted is responsible for making judgements about the quality of training and the leadership and management of an ITT partnership. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/04/2018 answer text <p>Not all children have easy access to green spaces and the Government is taking action to address this.</p><p> </p><p>Spending time in nature during school can encourage children to have a relationship with the outdoors and the new science and geography curriculum and qualifications encourage pupils to undertake fieldwork as part of their course of study.</p><p> </p><p>In the 25 Year Environment Plan, £10 million has been committed over the next five years to programmes that will connect pupils in the most disadvantaged areas with nature. This includes ensuring that schools, special schools and alternative provision institutions in the most disadvantaged areas will be offered support to establish a programme of visits to natural spaces, such as city farms, local nature reserves or Nationals Parks. This programme will be open to schools from autumn 2019. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/04/2018 answer text <p>The Government’s careers strategy, published in December 2017, aims to give young people from all backgrounds the opportunity to learn from employers about work and the skills that are valued in the workplace.</p><p> </p><p>The Careers &amp; Enterprise Company’s network of Enterprise Advisers are senior business volunteers who help schools to work with local businesses. The network is already operating in over half of secondary schools and colleges, and will be available to all of them by 2020.</p><p> </p><p>There are a number of opportunities for pupils to develop entrepreneurial skills. The new Business GCSE, which was first taught from 2017, is intended to enable students to develop as commercially minded and enterprising individuals. In 2014, for the first time, financial literacy was made statutory within the national curriculum as part of the citizenship curriculum for 11 to 16 year olds. The Department reformed the design and technology curriculum in 2014 and for the first time made it compulsory for maintained schools to teach cooking and nutrition at key stages 1 to 3. The new curriculum requires pupils to be taught about the principles of a healthy and varied diet, and how to cook a repertoire of dishes. It can be used as a benchmark by Free Schools and Academies.</p><p> </p><p>In September 2016, we also introduced a new GCSE in Food Preparation and Nutrition. It requires pupils to acquire a proper understanding of the scientific principles behind food and nutrition, and use a number of practical cooking techniques to prepare and cook food. The new curriculum, which covers Key Stage 1-4, is compulsory in maintained schools and can be used as a benchmark by academies and free schools. It has been designed to ensure that pupils acquire the knowledge they need to become active creators of digital technology, not just passive consumers of it. It focuses on the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science, including computer programming, abstraction, logic, and algorithms. It also includes digital literacy, e-safety and the application of information technology.</p><p> </p><p>As announced in the 2017 Autumn Budget, the Government will be investing £84 million in a comprehensive programme to improve the teaching of the new computing curriculum in schools. This will include creating a new National Centre for Computing Education, training up to 8,000 existing computer science teachers to teach the GCSE, an A level support programme, and a pilot programme to explore approaches to improve the gender balance in computing.</p><p> </p><p>This is in addition to the £5.8 million we have already invested since 2012 in the Network of Teaching Excellence in Computer Science.
