answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/06/2019 answer text <p>Details on the UK Statistics Authority’s interventions are published in the correspondence[1], publications[2], and issues log[3] sections of their website since 2010.</p><p> </p><p>The Authority’s Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR) also carry out regular assessments and systemic reviews, details of which can also be found on the Authority’s website[4].</p><p> </p><p>In September 2018, the Authority published the first annual summary of its interventions for the financial year 2017/18[5]. We want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to fulfil their potential. Since 2010, the department has successfully implemented ambitious reforms which are transforming opportunities for our children and young people throughout their educational journey. For example, there are now 1.9 million more children in good and outstanding schools than in 2010, record numbers of young people in education or training and more disadvantaged pupils going to university.</p><p> </p><p>The Secretary of State for Education and Minister for Women and Equalities recently published a plan, ‘Unlocking Talent, Fulfilling Potential’, which sets out plans to improve social mobility through education. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/12/2017 answer text <p>Since 2010, the Government Equalities Office (GEO) has undertaken a programme of activity to tackle gender inequality in the workplace, including through wide-ranging engagement with employers. Women have too long suffered disadvantage in the labour market, which is a barrier to social mobility. McKinsey estimates that bridging the gender gap in work would add £150 billion to the UK economy by 2025. We need to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to fulfil their potential.</p><p> </p><p>The full-time gender pay gap has fallen to a record low of 9.1%, and we are committed to eliminating the gender pay gap entirely. In 2017 we introduced requirements for all large employers to publish their gender pay and bonus gaps data by April 2018. These requirements will help employers identify and take action to close their gender pay gaps, which is key to accelerating progress.</p><p> </p><p>Many women struggle to find good jobs that meet their needs after taking time out to care for children and other relatives. Analysis by the Institute for Fiscal Studies found that time out of the labour market has a substantial impact on women’s salaries. On returning to work, women earn around 2% less on average for every year spent out of paid work. In the 2017 budget, £5 million in funding was allocated to increasing opportunities and support for returners. We are working with employers across the public and private sector to understand how returners can be supported back into permanent employment, and co-ordinating new public sector programmes for returners across the country in a wide variety of roles.</p><p> </p><p>The Secretary of State for Education and Minister for Women and Equalities recently launched the government’s ‘Unlocking Talent, Fulfilling Potential’ plan to improve social mobility through education. We allocate the Dedicated Schools Grant to local authorities on a per pupil basis and this is then distributed to schools and academies on the basis of a local formula. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/11/2017 answer text <p>The Civil Service has set out five priorities for the health and wellbeing of its employees, including priorities in relation to physical and mental wellbeing. The civil service has also committed to being a leading employer on mental health support, in line with the recommendations set out in the recently published independent review, Thriving at Work.</p><p>The Department for Education (DfE), which includes the Government Equalities Office, actively promotes the physical and mental wellbeing of its staff in a number of ways. The department has a wellbeing champion at Director-General level, who attends cross-government meetings with other champions, and sponsors the department’s Wellbeing and Neurodivergence staff networks.</p><p>The departmental intranet hosts a wellbeing toolkit, with links to the NHS Change for Life website, and promotes the NHS Get Active campaign. There is also a DfE sports and recreation site.</p><p>In February, the department launched a Mental Health First Aiders network, which now numbers over 60 people trained to support staff with mental health issues.
