The International Criminal Court investigation, which opened in June 2005, has produced several cases involving charges that include genocide, as well as other mass atrocity crimes. The UK’s support for the International Criminal Court is steadfast and we continue to call on the Sudanese authorities to ensure due legal process is followed.
more like this

answer text
We are aware of the concerns expressed by hunger-strikers around the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan. Similar concerns were also considered by the Council of Europe's Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) in their report, published in March 2018, of their April 2016 visit to the prison in which Mr Öcalan is held. We encourage Turkey to adopt the CPT's recommendations. With regard to the decades of conflict in Turkey, we have consistently urged an end to PKK violence and for both sides to return to a peace process. PKK violence has cost the lives of some thousand members of the Turkish security forces and scores of civilians since July 2015.

more like this

answer text
We strongly disagree with any remarks that alleges the UK has shielded alleged genocidaires. The decision on whether or not to extradite is a matter for the courts, not the government. We are a committed partner of Rwanda and believe in holding any perpetrators to account and ensuring justice is achieved. In line with this commitment, following the High Court ruling the Metropolitan Police undertook work to scope the allegations and subsequently launched an investigation. The Minister for Security committed in the House of Commons to ensuring that those suspected of war crimes face full justice and that resourcing or any other barriers will not stand in the way of completing this investigation as quickly as possible. However it is important to recognise that these investigations are complex and in order to ensure a free and fair trial, this will take time.
more like this
