We remain committed to defending freedom of religion or belief (FoRB) for all and promoting respect and tolerance between communities. Where we have issues, we raise them directly with the Government of India, including at Ministerial level.  I regularly speak to the High Commissioner of India. Human rights forms part of that dialogue. The Foreign Secretary made plain our views on the imposition of the NSL and the targeting of dissenting voices with Chinese Vice-President Han Zheng on 5 May. We are entitled to act when China breaks its obligations, as we did by giving nearly 3 million Hong Kongers a path to British citizenship. Changes to electoral rules in Hong Kong since 2021 have eroded the ability of Hong Kongers to be represented legitimately at all levels of government. We have made clear with our G7 partners our grave concern over the erosion of democratic elements in Hong Kong's electoral system.
