Of this £400 million North Norfolk, South Norfolk, West Norfolk and Norwich clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) received £4.8 million of resilience money in their baseline, however it is not possible to give a specific figure for Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals Trust. Learning from previous years, we have put this money into the CCG baseline for 2015/16 so that the National Health Service can plan effectively at local level for the long-term and take earlier action to tackle the symptoms of seasonal pressures.</p><br /><p>As part of the best practice guidance from the Safer, Faster, Better report (April 2015), all System Resilience Groups are implementing eight high impact interventions. Evidence suggests that smokers can substantially benefit their health by fully substituting the use of e-cigarettes for smoking. Public Health England has been working with Local Stop Smoking Services encouraging them to be open to the use of e-cigarettes, where clients choose to use them to support their quit attempts, alone or alongside other nicotine replacement therapies and the behavioural therapy that the services offer.</p><br /><p>The first e-cigarette was licenced by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency earlier this month. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/11/2015 answer text <br /><p>The Government has already made comprehensive plans to address the threat of antibiotic resistance through the <em>UK Five Antimicrobial Resistance Strategy 2013 – 2018</em></p><br /><p>The UK Strategy, which was published in September 2013, sets out our overarching goal to slow the development and spread of antimicrobial resistance. It focusses activities around three strategic aims, namely, to improve the knowledge and understanding of antimicrobial resistance; to conserve and steward the effectiveness of existing treatments; and to stimulate the development of new antibiotics, diagnostics and novel therapies. The strategy is based on the principle of “One Health”, tackling the problem of resistance in humans, animals and the environment.</p><br /><p>Globally, the UK has led efforts to tackle antimicrobial resistance. For example, we have taken the lead in the development and adoption, in May 2015, of a new World Health Organization (WHO) Resolution on antimicrobial resistance. The Charter is commissioned and coordinated by local authorities to support coherent action by businesses to improve the health of the local population.</p><br /><p>The Workplace Wellbeing Charter consolidates the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidance relating to employer action. When pernicious anaemia is diagnosed, most patients respond well to treatment through quarterly intramuscular injection of vitamin B12. Whilst some patients with pernicious anaemia might prefer to have more frequent injections, or for other forms of vitamin B12 to be self-administered, these are matters for individual patients to discuss with their general practitioners (GPs). It is for clinicians, not the Department, to specify regimes of clinical care.</p><br /><p>The Department has made no specific assessment of the benefits of allowing easier access to vitamin B12. Any patients with pernicious anaemia who have concerns about their treatment should discuss this matter with their GP.</p><br /><p>The treatment of pernicious anaemia is well established and reported in the British Committee for Standards in Haematology (BCSH) document, <em>Guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of Cobalamin and Folate disorders</em>, which was updated in May 2014. The BCSH operates independently of Department and NHS England. Cobalamin status is the recommended first line diagnostic test and is widely available. The guidance states that the clinical picture is the most important factor in assessing the significance of the test results. The guidelines can be found at the following link: <a href="http://www.bcshguidelines.com/" target="_blank">www.bcshguidelines.com</a></p><br /><p>Current clinical practice within the United Kingdom is to treat pernicious anaemia with Vitamin B12 intramuscular injections.
